Jenifer Tomchak Elected President of Young Lawyers Division of the Utah State Bar

The law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless is pleased to announce that Jenifer Tomchak has been named the President of the Young Lawyers Division. The election was formalized during the Utah State Bar’s Annual meeting.

Ms. Tomchak has been an active member of the Young Lawyers Division since 2006  During this time she has served as Chair of the Community Service Committee developing and implementing initiatives including the annual ‘Walk Against Violence’ and ‘Professional Clothing Drive‘ to benefit the Junior League and Road Home.  

In her role as President, Ms. Tomchak will represent the YLD and lead approximately sixty Board Members as they implement the monthly networking, educational, and community service programs.  During her first quarter as President, YLD has implemented several new programs, such as the ‘Practice in a Flash’ continuing legal education program for new attorneys and the ‘Green Utah Pledge’ to encourage Utah law firms to adopt more environmentally friendly measures, as well has continued to improve upon its regular programs such as the ‘Third Annual Walk Against Violence’ to benefit the YWCA and raise awareness about domestic violence, ‘Bar Sharks for Justice’ to benefit the And Justice for All legal center, ‘Wills for Heroes’, ‘Serving Our Seniors’, Tuesday and Wednesday Night Bar, and other networking events.  

Ms. Tomchak focuses her practice on labor and employment litigation, commercial banking issues and complex commercial litigation. A graduate of Utah State University, she received her B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, a minor in Spanish, and a Certificate in International Relations. She interned in Washington, DC for U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, and then earned both her M.B.A. and J.D. in 2004 from the University of Utah, Order of the Coif.  Prior to joining Parr Brown, she clerked for Utah Supreme Court Justice Matthew Durrant.  

In 2008-2011, Ms. Tomchak was recognized in Mountain States Super Lawyers as a 'Rising Star.' In April of 2009, she was recognized by Utah Business magazine as one of "Utah's 30 Women to Watch."  She was also listed in the 2010 and 2011 editions of Utah Business magazine's Legal Elite.
