Jonathan Hafen Named President- Elect of the Utah State Bar’s Litigation Section
August 26, 2010, Salt Lake City, Utah… The law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless is pleased to announce that Jonathan Hafen has been elected to serve as President – elect of the Utah State Bar’s Litigation Section. The Litigation Section is the largest section of the Utah State Bar with more than 300 members. As President-Elect, Mr. Hafen will focus on providing members with high quality Continuing Legal Education programs; interesting service opportunities, and facilitating events promoting interaction between lawyers and judges. Former President, Sammi Anderson, praised Jon’s leadership, saying "I have had the pleasure of working with Jon for several years on behalf of the Litigation Section members. I have no doubt that Jon's good work and judgment will continue as the Chair of the Executive Committee."In addition to his role with the Litigation Section, Mr. Hafen is also an active member of the Labor and Employment Section, the Federal Bar Association, and the Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Utah Rules of Civil Procedure. He serves as National Vice President for the Tenth Circuit. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Law & Economics Society, BYU Alumni Association, BYU Law School Alumni Association, and the Tuacahn Center for the Art.
Jonathan Hafen handles a wide variety of litigation, including cases in the areas of securities and investment law, employment law, breach of contract, property disputes, road and access cases, intellectual property, medical devices, pharmaceutical products, disputes over ownership and control of businesses, class actions, and construction law. Mr. Hafen also serves as legal counsel to a number of small, midsize and multinational companies, utilizing the significant resources available at Parr Brown to address the broad spectrum of legal challenges routinely confronting business leaders.
