Jenifer Tomchak Named President-Elect of the Young Lawyers Division

Press Release  |  Firm News  |  June 30, 2010

The Utah law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless is pleased to announce that Jenifer Tomchak has been named President-Elect of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Utah State Bar for 2010-11.  The YLD is comprised of approximately 2,000 lawyers who are under the age of 36 or who have been admitted to their first state bar for less than five years.  It is the largest and one of the most active sections of the Utah State Bar.  Their programs, which include the Tuesday Night Bar and Wills for Heroes, provide a much needed service to people throughout Utah.

Ms. Tomchak, a shareholder with Parr Brown’s Litigation Group, has been an active member of the YLD for the last five years.  During the past two years, she has served on the YLD’s Executive Board as the Chairperson of the YLD’s Community Service Committee, which organized a number of events including the first annual Walk Against Violence, a community-wide fundraiser to benefit victims of domestic violence.  She is currently working as a liaison between Utah Federal Bar Association, of which she is also a board member, and the YLD to provide opportunities for young lawyers who are facing difficulties in these economic times by facilitating free CLE credit and meaningful legal experiences to increase their ability to obtain employment.

In her role as President-Elect, Ms. Tomchak will serve as Chair of the Long Range Planning Committee of the Utah State Bar, plan programs in cooperation with the Executive Council, act as President in the absence of the President, and will perform other duties as may be assigned by the President.
