Paul Drecksel practices in the area of commercial litigation with an emphasis on eminent domain and real estate matters. He has handled delay, interference, acceleration, construction defect, and other construction litigation matters for clients throughout the western United States, including matters in federal and state courts and in arbitration.
Mr. Drecksel regularly represents the largest general contractor in Utah and has represented other local, regional and national general contractors, subcontractors and owners involved in construction disputes.
Representative cases:
- A 21-day construction defect arbitration regarding construction of the 2002 Olympic Speed Skating Oval. The client prevailed and recovered attorney fees.
- Municipal disruption and acceleration cases with as much as $20 million in dispute.
- A construction defect case related to an allegedly defective top coat in various locations at the University of Utah’s Rice Eccles Stadium.
- Multiple cases where claims exceed $10 million.
