Dan Jensen has been practicing natural resources law since 1988. His practice encompasses water, mining, oil and gas, public land and administrative law. Mr. Jensen focuses on transactional work involving mineral interests, water rights and public lands, acquisitions and transfers of mineral land and water rights, title and due diligence reviews, land use entitlements, and development agreements. Mr. Jensen also handles related litigation, including disputes concerning property titles and boundaries, access rights, mining claims, water right ownership and modifications, regulatory compliance, and proceedings before the federal Interior Board of Land Appeals, the Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining, and the Utah Division of Water Rights.

Mr. Jensen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Utah and spent three years as a mining engineer for Shell Oil Company in Houston, Texas and Springfield, Illinois.

Mr. Jensen has served as Chair of the Utah State Bar's Energy, Natural Resources and Environmental Law section as well as Chair of the Water Law Committee and Chair of the Mining Law Committee within that section. In 2005, he was named as the section's "Lawyer of the Year."

Mr. Jensen is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts of Utah and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has served as a Trustee and as a member of the Executive Committee for the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and served as a judge pro tempore in the Third Judicial District Court for Salt Lake County (small claims, 1991-2005). Mr. Jensen has been an adjunct professor of Natural Resources Law at the J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University, and is presently an adjunct professor of Mining Law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah.

Mr. Jensen was recognized in the 2011 edition of Chambers USA in the area of Energy and Natural Resources attracting compliments for his "prompt, serious and methodical approach."  He has been listed repeatedly in past editions of Utah Business magazine's Utah's Legal Elite in the area of energy and natural resources; in Best Lawyers in America 2006-2012; and in the 2007-2011 editions of Mountain States Super Lawyers. He was also named one of Utah's top 100 lawyers in 2004.  Mr. Jensen has the highest Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV.
